Holidays are one of the highlights in a child life. They enjoy their break from school and they love the holiday spirit. During the Holiday season it is important that your child understand why we are celebrating the Holidays.
Make your child realize that holidays should not be focused on gifts or presents but on the Savior Jesus Christ who was born to save humanity. Visiting loved ones such as grandparents is one of the good ways to establish a good solid bond between your kids and relatives. Putting up the Christmas tree together is also another fun thing to do for Christmas. Encourage your child to make cards for his or her friends and relatives and people he or she find important.
If your child is 5 year old and below, help your child in making a short message in the card made. Older children do not often need supervision in making their cards. Do not forget to praise them for the cards that they made and give them pat on the back or a high five. Kids love to be recognized and this makes them feel cared for and needed. It is also important to have enough family bonding time together during the Holiday Season. Having a meal together for the Holidays or simply watching the fireworks together with your children are definitely moments that the family will always cherish.
